Nauvoo Temple House Hotel

We had a wonderful stay here in Nauvoo! The suite was so charming. They upgraded our suite to a temple facing suite and it was wonderful to wake up and see the temple right out the balcony. They were so kind and accommodating with our very late check in. They made this an incredible experience for our first time in Nauvoo.

Was not sure where to check in so we went into a very busy restaurant (smelled amazing) and a lady was able to give use a key for our room. The room was huge and very clean. The bathroom was also large. The bed was comfortable and we slept well until 8:00 am. There were children running and yelling up and down the stairs and the hallway. The pool is located in a different location where you need to check in and out. No late check out. But it was so clean and comfortable I would definitely love to stay here again.

The is the closest hotel to the Nauvoo Temple. Our room had a balcony with a view of the temple. The room was clean and nice with good housekeeping services. The check in process was a little rough as you have to go to the Inn at Old Nauvoo to check in. Also, if you need ice, a blanket, or to use the pool it’s all at the Inn at Old Nauvoo. Overall it was great!

Make sure to get one of the rooms in the Mercantile building. Avoid the ones next door in the "historical building". They have so many issues like doors with gaps in the frame, dusty, smelly curtains. That building also has old, uneven stairs and no elevator.

The room was small, but it was clean. I wish there was space in the bathroom to put toiletries. The blow dryer didn’t work, so I had to go to bed with my hair wet. There is a microwave outside the room in the hallway. To check in, you need to go to a different location to pick up your keys. I mistakenly went into the restaurant, but they told me where to go. The location was convenient for me because I could walk down to the LDS historical sites and the temple.

Beautiful place to stay. We loved our room and our view. Historic old fixtures. Shower had a hard time staying consistent. It went really hot or really cold even when we weren't moving the nozzle, but it was livable. Couldn't get the TV to find any channels or anything so it was unusable. We called the front office three different times over the two days we were there and all we got was a message machine with a promise to return our call, but we never ever heard from them. Nothing we needed was major (like getting the TV to work) so we were fine. So loved our room and the location and the view. Comfy bed and large room. Would so stay here again. But don't expect any customer service. That's why I gave it 4 starts instead of 5.

We travelled from Brisbane Australia and loved staying at the Nauvoo Hotel. Was very handy to the Nauvoo temple (right outside) and Historic Village. Very convenient to have the BBQ place downstairs for dinner (their burnt ends meat thingy was delicious! our new favourite thing if we ever find something similar in Australia) also loved having the Bookshop next door. Loved looking out our window to see the temple. Rooms were very spacious, clean, tidy and very homey. Loved seeing church art around the foyer and hallways.

We stayed in the Zion Mercantile in suite 104, and it was fabulous. Very clean. It felt like we were staying in our favorite Aunt's house. Only note would be for them to put blackout shades over the window. My boys were up bright and early with the sun. Proximity to the temple was amazing, and the outside of the hotel is charming. My husband worked remotely during the day and the wifi was sufficient. Driving down to the other hotel for pool access was a bit of a pain, but it didn't bother us too much. The cleanliness and room size made up for it. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat.
